“Photography is the best excuse to get to know people.”
Maki Galimberti was born in Milan. He is a great portraitist of celebrities, investigator of social phenomena and witness of big events of our time. His capacity of capturing in an image the true side of who's in front of his camera is as unique as his ability to make a subject immediately interesting to the viewer.
About / Biography
Maki Galimberti, was born in 22 years before Photoshop in Milan, on a cold January day. At that time he had blonde locks, but no longer. He spent his time attending an artistic high school, where he coordinated some political groups, with the typical laxity of the ‘80s until he was obliged to deal with real purposes, renouncing to an easy career in the field of psychoanalysis. He grew up with the most important Italian newspapers and magazines, and now his photographs are published worldwide. In portraiture, he developed his own style, well liked and used in hundreds of covers and advertising campaigns. He captures icons of sport, cinema, politics, fashion and has followed international events in the last three decades.
He has a son, Antonio, six years old, who believes that the job of his father is “going to a swimming pool”.
