So many facets of Brazil and Brazilian culture are being affected by the World Cup. But so many are not. For example, São Paulistas love 1990s era New York City rap music. Everything about it. Graffiti. Freestyle battles. Gangster beats. All for the love of the music too. It's still a very local scene. Samba loops. Live instruments. Portuguese slang. But it's not a novelty. It's rap music in the old school sense of the genre. It must have something to do with all the concrete.
