Sony Global Imaging Ambassadors launches #FutureofCities

10 October 2014

When seventy-five percent of our global population is projected to be living in cities by the middle of the century, what is the future of our cities? For the next nine months, Sony Global Imaging Ambassadors will be exploring cities around the world and the creative and innovative initiatives people are taking to improve the crowded places they call home.

The #FutureofCities social documentary project will follow the mass urban shift through the eyes of Panos Pictures photographers. Some topics covered will be urban farming, eco-housing, and children at play. With over a dozen photo commissions, follow how cities around the world are evolving and coping with the influx of people from suburban and rural areas.

In collaboration with Panos Pictures and the World Photography Organisation (WPO), we will be looking for you to show us how your city is adapting its spaces and taking initiative. Get involved by posting your own photos on social media and tagging #FutureofCities. Some of these local images will be shared in an ongoing blog.
